Some quick gifts

Key Rings
We had two small ostrich appliques that were cut out too close to the top. We cut them in the middle, turned them into small pillows and added narrow ribbons to be attached to the key ring.
They sell at ZAR 20.00, USD 5.00 and Euro 2.00 each. Follow this link if you want to buy/order.

Decorated shopping bag
These sturdy and handy shopping bags were used as 'gift-wraps' containing South African authentic gifts for family overseas. The small appliques were not trimmed and sewn straight onto the bags with a zig-zag stitch. Lovely!

An Ostrich on your Couch

(Link voor Nederlandse lezers)

Jannette of Fleurige Tassen made a large applique with an ostrich on a cushion cover. The broderie anglaise gives it such a bright, fresh appearance. We love receiving pictures of projects made with Tambani lappies!

Visitors from America

(Link voor Nederlandse lezers)

Nancy Crow came to visit Tambani Johannesburg today. Preliminary to the 2012 "Nancy Crow South Africa Tour",  local GRG member Trish van Zyl took Nancy, Nathaniel and Michelle to several local art and craft shops.
Nancy was keen to get to know the history of the Tambani project and how Ina prepares the embroideries for the Venda women and how we go about selling the appliques. We could also share stories about the lives of Selinah and Eni and them supervising the women working at their houses. Thank you Nancy, for making time to familiarize yourself with our project.
